Otis the Sheepadoodle

Otis was born on August 5, 2016 and has been making people smile every day since. Otis is smart, loving, and extremely goofy. He adores meeting all of the people who stop to meet him and jumps at the opportunity to play with any of his four-legged friends. Otis is often mistaken for a Muppet, teddy bear, or cartoon character, but regardless of who you think he is, he is thrilled to spend time with you. Otis loves going on adventures to dog parks, lakes, city markets, and shopping stores, but he also loves to lay belly up on the couch or bed. Like many of the best big dogs, Otis thinks he is a lap dog. Spend five minutes with Otis, and you will feel like you have a new best friend.

Otis is also very smart and eager to please. Otis loves solving puzzles, learning new tricks, and playing hide and seek with various toys. Otis went to puppy school with us starting at the age of 10 weeks. At 7 months, Otis went away to offleash training for two weeks. He is still a big goof ball – just a goof ball that listens!

Having been forced to endure photo sessions since he came home, Otis recognizes a camera and knows the deal. Even when strangers on the street ask to take a photo, this dog knows to pose (he is a bit of a ham!).

Some of Otis’s pastimes include:

  • Playing fetch with his glow in the dark ball
  • Stealing his humans' shoes
  • Posing for pictures
  • Playing with dogs, toys, and people
  • Reminding his humans when it's time to eat
  • Eating apples
  • Hogging the couch for naps
  • Herding his humans (and anyone else nearby)
  • Using his paws like human arms (really though)

Otis also loves to perform the following tricks and commands for small payments of apples or belly rubs:

  • Sit, down, stay
  • Come
  • Heel
  • Touch (hand or paws on target)
  • Place
  • Shake
  • Sit pretty
  • Drop it, leave it, off
